Yairi Rivera graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Minor in Public Health. In her professional career she has held positions allowing her to gain experience in the areas of health sciences, children and family services, community outreach, program planning, research and administration. Ms. Rivera was previously working as a Research Assistant on a College of Behavioral & Community Sciences internal research grant: Assessing the Feasibility of Family-Based Risk-Reduction Interventions among Latino Families in the Juvenile Drug Court with Dr. Celia Lescano. Before coming to USF she worked with the Florida Institute for Community Studies as a HIV Counselor and a Teen Coordinator for Proyecto Prevención, a HIV and Drug prevention program. When the grant ended Ms. Rivera became an Instructor Assistant for their cultural arts after school program, Prodigy.
